1984 SJ410 Carb...
« on: November 20, 2008, 08:28:05 AM »
Man, is it just me or are parts for a SJ410 hard to find...haven't went into great depth looking, but my initial search tells me I should have waited for a Sammi...Anyways, I am having some carb problems, along with clutch problems, but now just addressing the carb, where can I get an aftermarket carb to replace the worn factory....

Hawk Strictly Suzuki has a full line of SJ410 parts.

Browse on E-bay, a lot.  Just do a search for SJ_410 and SJ410, you will find deals on there.  I picked up a carb three years ago for 5 dollars + shipping, ended up using it last year.  I have a $20 4 speed transmission sitting in the garage in case something goes out on mine.

At this point, other then the engine (There was a spare for $50 on craigslist last month), the drive train is mostly Samurai based.  Wider axles, actually able to get parts for, but it does require re-mounting your spring pads as the springs are 3" closer together.

Do yourself a favor though, order the clutch from Hawk Suzuki.  Some places will list the SJ-410 in their books if they have access to Canadian models, but they usually will give you the wrong clutch kit.

Just ordered a clutch kit from Hawk...I know this started about a carb, however the carb is semi-working, the clutch is not, so I got priorities man...thanks for the recommendation...

You can probably get a rebuild kit for the carb, it wouldn't hurt.  I know my old one is horribly plugged up at the moment but I have been meaning to tear it apart just so I have another spare.

Then again, I was running the old one with a copper tube were the fuel filter used to be for 3 years.  So that may have have lead to it's demise.  Have to love previous owners solutions sometimes.  :D
