Or can some answer a couple of questions on witch on would be the best to buy?

The price difference between each kit does not worry me, but what are the pros and cons of each kit?

The Vitara is my daily drive car.
I want as much clearance as possible (like every one else.)
Will stay with the standard tyres.
With the 3" how does it effect driving? tyre wear? cv wear? mods that have to be done over "bolt in kit" or should be done.

well im not sure that u will end up wanting to stay with the stock height tires after u see how much wheel well space u have

also are u doing the sus lift or the body lift

the body lift will mean ull  have to modify ur shifters both t-case and drive shifter

so we need a little more info..what year is your truck 2 door..4 door 4wd? 2wd?

i assume since u said CV angle u mean sus lift..but just to clarify

I would like 31's or 32's to replace the standard Tyres but have just brought a full set of 205/75/15 so I want to get my money worth out of them before I buy more tyres.

Would probley buy a set of 31's on different rims for off road only at a later stage.

I prefer the 2 inch for street driving and mild wheeling. I personally think that the 2 inch drives a little nicer down the street. It drives almost like stock. It also has mild angles which make it harder to break CVs. I like the three inch kit cause of its ability to be tweaked into a long travel setup. Even out of the box its quite a bit flexier than the 2 inch. I guess it depends on what your long term goals are. What kind of driving are you planning to do?

Unless you want to do some cutting you can forget 31's and 32's without a bodylift. 235/75R15's will fit stock and with your suspension maybe 30x9.5's but without extending your bumpstops they may still foul on compression.

First step, figure out what size tyre you want to run then build it around that. For 31's you want to look at a 2" suspension and 2" bodylift with some minor trimming and flares for coverage and some 15x7 rims if you want to go wider than a 215. The auto will cope OK but the manual will give away some performance without changes to your gearing.

Are you going to worry about getting it engineered in QLD? You may find the heim joint on the 3"Calmini a-arm an issue but personally for the money go the 3".

Here is a couple of links to installs of the two kits. I am currewntly running both kits. My daily driver has the 2" kit and it works great and rides great. I have had this same kit for many years and it is a very durable good riding kit. I commute 1000 miles a week in my X-90 and have no complaints of the on road ride. For a mild to moderate trail ride vehicle that will see alot of road use I would highly reccomend the 2" kit.

My trail Rig has the 3" suspension lift. It will give you better clearance and better trail performance than the 2" kit but it also sacrifices on road comfort. Unless you have the extra weight of roll cages, winch, bumpers, etc... the 3" kit will give you a stiff ride on road.

Just an observation:

 After I lifted my Trackick,  three others locally did thiers as well.  Two are running 245R75  16 and one is running 30x9.50 15.  All are clearing fine with stock bumpers and no fender trimming.  Stock rims.
 However, they have the newer Trackick bumpers that came out some where around 95'
 Also we're all running the 3 inch Calmini suspension lifts only.
 I'm running 31x10.50's on 15X8 rims and rubbed eveywhere until I started removing bumpers and moving things running gear to the edges.

i thoguht about the 2 inch lift and thought i will only want bigger and the 3 inch kit is flexible . ie i am in teh porcess of longer shocks etc
I put 31.10.50s on and it was a bit tight I installed wheel spacers which helped but i needed to knock back the inner wheel arch a bit i  used to loose articulation too.

so wasnt long till the 3 inch body lift went on and a set of 33.12.50s
