I've found some information on the diffs (4.62 gears). Is this the gearing in 5-speed and auto trans? Which 5.125 gears (from Gen 1) do I need (front / rear / does it matter?)? Are the stock tires on Gen2 27" as well? If so, according to my calculations, 5.125 will correct for 30" tires perfectly - is that correct? It looks like Gen 2 is 16" rim - is that so? Are they still 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern? Sorry for all the questions, I really am trying to dig and search, but there's a real lack in specifics in some of the chatter in other threads  :'(

Oh, and I have an extra OME lift kit for Gen 1 - does anyone know if it'll fit?

My 2001 Tracker(GV) has 15" rims that are 5 on 5.5", but the Suzuki version has the 16" rims. That's from what I've seen around, not sure all years are the same.

Suzukis have larger front brakes and need the 16" wheels to clear them.  The bolt pattern is the same.

For gear ratios see http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic,18763.0.html

If you change final drive gears, you must change front AND back.  I believe it does matter about front to front, etc.

I should have been more specific... I know I'd be changing the front & rear in the Gen 2 - I'm wondering if I need the front or rear from the donor vehicle (For example, in Samurais you can only use the diff gears from the front).

Not true! I have put a 15x7 Jeep CJ rims on my 01 Vitara and it cleared the caliper and rotor just fine! The rims have 3.75" backspacing, just so you know. I think the style of the rim really matters in whether it will clear or not.

Ok, I should have said ".. and cannot accept the stock 15" rims."
