Low Range Off Road sells a line lock. I was just wandering if this can be used as a paking brake. I have a line lock on my drag car but it can only be engaged for 30 seconds any longer and i will risk blowing the solenoid. I was just wandering if any one has used the one from Low Range.

Is it a manual line lock or a electric one?

The manual ones can be used for parking brakes, but not legally.  You have to have a wire connecting them in order for the state to be happy.

Its the electric line lock. Not worried about being legal its not driven on the road

I have a manual line lock on my mud truck and use it for parking brake. I dont know about the electric line lock though for a parking brake. Along as you have battery power going to the line lock it should work.

There's a reason why car companies haven't been using line locks and other hydraulic part for parking breaks.

Your break system will always be sitting under pressure, putting more wear and tear on your seals.
There is a possibility that it can bleed off, sending a rig a rollin.

The Jamar line locks are known for bleeding off if used as a parking break and left for a while, There supposed to be used for short holds.
