The rear bar that connects a softtop to the tailgate so the top stays taut.

I have a 97 Suzuki Sidekick 2dr. Somebody stole the entire convertible top and took this bar along with it. I bought a new replacement top but per usual the hardware wasn't included. I am having the damndest time finding a replacement bar. To add to the frustration, I can't find what the part name is. I can explain what it is, and people understand, but I would like to know the actual name so I can be specific when asking. Reps for a Suzuki OEM provider couldn't tell me the name, though they were able to quote me $120 for a new one.

If anyone around Flint, Michigan has one for sale, let me know. I will also ask in the Garage Sale section. Not having this part is like driving a tent with only 3 spikes in the ground.

Thank you

Give Hawk Suzuki a call, they should be able to send you one in the mail.

The person I spoke with at Hawk Suzuki also didn't know the name but gave me a high quote on a new part. They didn't have any used ones on site. I should inquire more often or ask if they have a waiting list for parts.

It would be nice to find the part locally. Hawk is in Oregon and I am in mid Michigan. I appreciate the tip though, so thanks.

I realize this is three plus hours away, but might be an option. They have three geo trackers. The next closest location is Indianapolis

They won't be able to tell you over the phone if they have the part you are looking for, unfortunately.

I think I might have the piece you need brother, let me take pics of it tommarow. and I will post for you, if its the bar that slides on the top of the tailgate then you might be in luck.

Thank you homer74. I sent you an email. Unfortunately, I don't think the part in your pic is the one I am looking for. However, I thank you for taking the time to send it to me.
