Sammi Soft Top
« on: August 02, 2004, 10:26:51 AM »
Stupid top.  It seems like everytime I go to put my Bestop soft top on my Sammi, IT GETS HARDER!! >:( The stretch to get the snaps back and down is getting impossible.  Am I putting it on in the wrong sequence?  I usually start with the top still snapped to the bar and pull the front of it up to the windshield and do those snaps and put the channel in.  then I proceed to slide the top into the channel on the roll bar.  after that step, I do the snaps which have now become impossible.  Last night I was getting brutalized by mosquitos after a long hard weekend of play at the local Tractor Pull.  The damn snaps were so difficult and the mosquitos so relentless, that I finally said fu*k it and went to bed with only one snap on each side and the back window zipped shut.  My electronics in the dash were covered so that was good enough, I had to work in the morning.  That sure made up my mind to get the Bikini, WindJammer, Duster setup as soon as I have $186 to burn.  But for now I really gotta figure out how to use this top properly.  PLEASE HELP!

I usuall start at the winshield and work my way back, leaving the snaps on the inside rear bow for last. Works like a charm. BUT!  if its cold outside it is near impossible to put on.

Thanks man, I think now it was because it got wet and then dried a couple of times while it was off.  And it was cold when I had all that trouble.
