Mass Airflow sensor (maf )
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:34:47 AM »

Hi
I have a 94 LWB Vitara  ( sidekick )  with 210,000kms on the clock.
I have a code 34  , MAF  sensor.
How many of these do you know that have needed to be replaced .
I have taken voltage readings  and am only getting 0.4v  and that doesn't increase with revs.

Is it dirty inside, did you try cleaning it? It's not unheard of for them to go bad under some conditions. You just may have to replace it, but I'm sure there's someone here can sell you a good used one for much less than a new one. Check the classified section and post a WANTED ad.

make sure it's not in backwards, look for airflow arrow, and
yes, they don't work installed backwards, just in case you
think it won't make any difference
