Ok so I am rebuilding my samurai and I went to go put the clutch cable back on the arm.... but for some reason when i push in the cluch it still feels like nothing is happening.... I messed with the cluch fork and it only moves back in forth like a half of an inch.... what could be the issue? Its a 1990

are the little dots on the arm and shaft lined up?   I remember reading something about this being an issue.    also lube the cable,  its NEVER bad to lube a clutch cable in my book.

theres a special tool that I use, along with specific lubricants,   generally motorcycle chain lube is an acceptable lubricant.
The tool in the link goes over an end of the sheath and you can spray lubricant in that end of your cable to keep it lubed properly.

From my motorcycling days,  a well lubricated cable is one that gives excellent feel and lives loads longer.   also works smoother and with less effort than a dirty and unlubricated cable.
