Samurai shift knob inserts?

Samurai shift knob inserts?

Hello, new to this forum, thank you for letting me in.  I have an 88 Samurai to play around my "hobby farm" and it does a good job.  I am looking for a place to buy the factory stock shift knob pattern inserts.  Transmission and transfer case knobs.  Everybody says replace the knobs but the stock ones are just fine and not broken, just missing the pattern inserts.  I am soon to teach two youngsters how to drive a stick shift and I think it important that they see the shift pattern on the knobs.  Thanks for any help, Paul in north Mississippi.

You might try with Hawk Suzuki.  You might have to order that from a Suzuki dealership.

The insert for the transfer case you'll probably need to buy from a dealer,  or order a set of billet shifter knobs below from Low Range Offroad.   they're good people to buy from. I've only bought all the major repair parts for my sammy from them.

I would doubt anyone sells just the inserts....I would bet you have to buy the whole knob, unfortunately.

Just a few years ago, I bought the (early) T-case knob from the dealer, for around $12 for my late-model Zuk. I wouldn't be surprised if they're both/all still available. I've also see them on eBay from time to time.  Regrettably, losing the shift-pattern insert seems to be a somewhat common occurance.

I saw some billet aluminum ones with the shift
pattern machined into the top, if you don't mind
ones that are not stock.

I guess this really depends on where you're located - but I will never put another billet aluminium shift knob in anything I own.  In the noon day heat of the tropics, the knob can get literally get too hot to hold.
