I like trail tough's YJ Kits and Sky's Kits Both, if you have a welded rear do not run long shackles in the back, run the missing links.

Rocky road is not a good company! They will not give you any customer service. If you search on any samurai forum you will see how many people have problems with them. Unfortunately they are the first company that people find and their website make you think that others products are sub par. I have heard over and over how someone ordered a kit did not get all of the parts and get the run around for months. It is not only the service but a lot of their parts have to be reworked in order to fit properly. Trail tough's YJ Kits and sky-manufacturing Kits both have good reputations for being quality products and Brent at TT will try his hardest to help you if you have any questions. I have RRO yj kit and I kick myself in the butt for not buying Trail toughs kit. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Well said... RRO has gotten me once because I didn't believe all the talk about them. Luck for me it was on a small part.
I have the Trail Tough YJ kit and love it. Trail Tough has always been super helpful even before I was a customer.

i have read that you can't run an aftermarket bumper with some some yj kits. i saw the orange samurai on the may 10' issue of 4 wheel drive and sport utility mag, and it does have one, but i don't know that ive seen another one anywhere that does. also, say i have a RR spoa kit, will there be any problems adding the TT yj kit to this in the future?

4 wheel drive and sport utility magazine.... LOL. What a crap magazine !!!!
Mine was built and put in that magazine's June 2008 issue. I wouldn't trust anything you read or see in that magazine. I was new to the 4x4 and Samurai scene when I came across the Samurai I own now. It looked great and they wrote up some great crap about it... once I paid for it and got it home I realized that the shop had totally jacked up this Samurai. I couldn't believe that the magazine raved about how great this Samurai was.... I called them out on the build and they didn't care, as long as it looked good in the magazine is what they were after.

If you have a particular bumper in mind just ask around to see if it will fit with the YJ springs.
I had Trail Tough Bumpers and have since switched to Shrockworks bumpers... both worked with the YJ missing link setups.

thanks... also i know yj's are spring under stock, do you have to turn the center alignment pins around on the leaf springs when you use them on the samurai with a spoa lift?

yeah, super simple/easy to do.
I just C-clamped the spring pack to hold it together and then take the center pin bolt out and flip it around.

so when doing a spoa kit with stock springs, i assume you need to do the same? are the old ones still useable usually or should i have some new ones on hand just in case?

Old ones should be usable.  You might need to replace your center bolt though, sometimes they will break when you take it apart.

thanks a lot all for your help... ive just about decided on the trail tough kit from reviews and what people have said about it and the companys customer service. so i will be adding it to a RRO spoa kit. will the shocks from the spoa kit be long enough for the yj springs? also i see the TT kit comes with an extended slip yoke, should i also order that when i buy the yj kit? i just can't stand not having all the right parts when the time comes to do the lift and having to wait another week for them to be shipped.

I was running a Trail Tough SPOA kit with 2" lifted Bonz-Eye springs when I changed over to the Trail Tough YJ kit... I don't remember what all I ordered but I remember calling Trail Tough and I just went through everything I had done and what parts I already had over the phone with one of the guys... they got me setup with everything else I needed for the swap. Got all the right parts the first time and it made the swap alot easier to have all the right parts the first time.
