Yes I have. Also changed fliud & filter & added a bottle of Lucas tranny treatment. Before changing the mod valve it shifted perfectly.I returned the valveI & got another one but it didn't help.I'm at wit's end with this problem & considering replacing tranny.
That's quite a coincidence, or something you did is making it not shift properly.
Auto tranny diagnosis can be a PITA. Sometimes it is something simple that is the fix...something put together wrong, something not hooked up, something not adjusted properly, etc. Sometimes you can get lucky and disassemble some of the more major parts (like the valve body) and clean them up really good and get it to operating properly again and not have to replace expensive or hard to find parts. Sometimes a good tranny flush and filter change will get it working again.
As recommened, I would drain all the lucas out and put in straight tranny fluid. To do a good fluid removal, I would pull the line off that comes from the radiator cooler, start the engine and let it pump the fluid out until it runs dry, shut the engine off, dump some new fluid in the tranny, repeat the procedure again. You will need to run about 6 quarts of fluid through the tranny to get a complete fluid replacement/flush. After you have ran 6 quarts through, you could go ahead and drop the pan and dump what is left in it out. You probably don't really need to do that though, since what little bit of lucas that would be left in there will be pretty diluted by the time you run 6 quarts of new fluid through the tranny.
TH180 and 3L30 are other names for the 3 speed auto tranny that is used in trackicks.
