« on: June 21, 2010, 09:25:48 AM »
im looking to get a 1.6 vitara next month, just wondering wether to get the 8v or 16v. i no its all about the torqe and i think ive bin told the 8v`s have more torqe.. so does that mean it would be better off road than the 16v?

The only dyno comparison I've seen shows the 8V and 16V with identical torque up to around 3500, then the 8V tails off and the 16V keeps going. I think the 16V feels like it has less torque because its a much freer revving engine. Given the choice I would go for the 16V every time.

x2. I have compared the dyno graphs in the past and I haven't seen where an 8v makes more but I have seen where it makes less  ;)
