Towing a 98' Kick.. small problem
« on: May 22, 2004, 04:27:53 AM »
I am using the 98' kick as our TOAD behind our new motorhome. The problem is since we are towing all wheels down, which works great by the way, it's racking up miles. I was told there was a fuse I could pull to stop this,  Which one is it?

Thanks,
Ken

Is the odo working with the ignition off ??
I thought only a Mechanical Speedo worked
when the engine is turned off.

Go here and ask the question. I'll bet someone can answer it.

Maybe you could.....

unplug the speedo cable from the transfer case?  :P

I think that'll fix it?

My 96 is cable driven.  So unless you unplug it you will rack up the miles.

Of course if wildgoody would get his rear full floater together that would solve the problem.  ;D

If I wasn't moving that was going to be my next project.  Maby this fall??  Unless wildgooddy beates me to it.

Are you saying get off my rear and get that
rear done  ;) Time and Money, the only 2
problems I have.

I did find the spindles, but they wanted $50 each
and the axles are going to be $400 for both.  :(

I want to get some bigger side gears for a beefy
axle too, like 30 spline, if they will fit *sigh*  I need
an R and D budget, then you see all sorts of trick
stuff for the Zukes

ok..goto oregon =) goto like camping world or some camping place..u can buy a thing that u put in the car that will shut off the odo when the car isnt in gear but moving foreward..my car has one on it because my grandpa used to tow it

illegal in cali but really theres no harm since it isnt something u flick a switch for..it only shuts off the odo when it is out of gear and being towed

i will try and ask my grandpa for some more info if not i still have the instruction manual
