Back on the Road
« on: May 17, 2004, 02:18:27 AM »
About a month before Moab I started "gettin ready" for the trip. As most of you know, for mant different reasons I did not get to go to Moab and the Kick was left sitting in the shop.

My friend Scott said that he would do the mods for me when he had time, and it's done ;D After what seemed like an eternity with out my Kick, it's back home.

A run down of the new MODS:

1- Power Steering. Definately worth the cost and work!!!! I've been wheeling win manual steering since I bought my Kick in 94. I have not tried it out on the trail yet, but after a drive around town I would give my self a swift Kick for not dooing it sooner (if I was that flexable)

2- Front End Widening, 3/4" spring spacers, Maxima 1/2 shafts (THANKS MIKE ;)). Drives great on road, I hope to try it out on the trail this weekend.

3- No More Oil leaks ;D

4- New Flowmaster and tail pipe.

5- Good Year 33x12.50 MTR's (I've had them for a little while but just now got to drive with them) They drive great on the road and I will also try these off road this weekend. When I was RTI ramping the Kick to check for wheel clearance the MTR's could lift a wheel (in 2wd) forward and backwards on the ramp. I cant wait to see how they do with all 4 pulling :o

Back to Work,
Zig

Sounds awesome... finally getting to drive your rig after working on it/waiting for it for a long period of time is a great feeling ;D.

Too bad you didn't make it to Moab.

Take some pics!  ;D I got back from wheeling yesterday but forgot the dang camera.  :-[ I really should have too. Ive been playing with different mods trying to get through this one spot at my dads place. Still didnt make it... :P Mabey next time! ::)It was a steep muddy uphill climb, I got all sideways, carried the RF tire about 2 feet inthe air... still on the gas I slid backwards into a tree with the RR of my bumper. RF tire was still 2 feet in the air when I got out.  ::) No damage. That Calmini bumper rocks! ;D

What was my point again......OH yea, Bring your camera! Its more fun to talk about your weekend when you have pics!  ;D

BTW, Stop working so much and do some wheeling!

LOL :) This message sounds so much like you when you talk. I just imagined you after a twelve pack of 'Dew and BOOM! You're right here with me telling your wheeling story.  :o

BTW: Chunk says you like your new mod...

Actually I was trying the high speed thing when I got onto that spot. Swampers :-/ Mabey but I think it was more of a balance issue.

Take some pics!

I'll try and take some pics. The place I'm going is not real difficult unless you try yo make it that way ::) I still have not bought a digital camera, but will pic up a disposable before I go and scan some pic's in.

BTW, Stop working so much and do some wheeling!

Actually, it seems to be slowing down a little, but it's only temporary. One of our sub-contractors started working full time for another company, and guess who gets to pick up the slack ::) I'm still trying to find the time to get an assistant in here to help me out. I'm hoping to do something next week after getting this next dead line out.
