Sidekick struts
« on: September 28, 2011, 09:40:56 PM »
I am looking to put some new struts and shocks on my 90 Kick.
I want it to soak up the bumps better and give a bit more clearance, what brand name will do for my Kick?
Thanks in advance.

The only long-travel struts I know of are the ones by Old Man Emu and Bilstein.

On the shocks out back, you can also go with OME or Bilstein, but you can also get longer shocks made for other cars, such as the Ford Crown Victoria, Mustang, E-series van, and others. Be sure to do a search--lots of good info here about it.

The springs will impact the ride as much if not more than the struts/shocks will.

For struts, the Bilstein's are the heaviest duty option but are not any taller.  As Andy over at Warn mentioned OME is the only long travel option.

How much lift are you looking to get?

I was looking at getting a couple inches more clearance and softening the bumps.
