HELP ME, PLEASE
« on: April 04, 2004, 12:25:07 PM »
Hello Everyone.

I've been working on my Shackle Reverse Kit and installing new Leaf Springs. Along with my Sliders from Shockworks...these things are so coool and heavy duty.
Sorry, just alittle excited ;D ;D ;D.

For the question: In my kit I have a "silver spacer" I think that its for the driveline but i'm not sure, the instruction don't talk about it at all, so i'm not sure if I need it? If it goes on front or back? Or what to do with it? ???

Thanks,
Nathan

Yes it is for the front driveline. You install it in between the front diff and the driveline, not at the transfercase end.

Thanks alot., I will go install that right now.

Here's another problem that I just ran into, the rear leaf spring won't come loose from the frame mount, the bolt appears to be ceased (spelling?) to the metal bushing. Going after it with a hack saw...no torch :( any other ideas on how to remove this?

Thanks Again,
Nathan

Take a grinder and grind off the bolt on either side of the spring hanger. Take a punch (bolt, socket extension, anything hard enough to count) and whack the bolt first one way, grind flush, then the other. when you get as far as you can doing that, take a pry bar and slightly pry out the spring hanger on either side. Twist the spring back and forth and it should fall right out.
Hope that helps.

U-joint angles. If you only have one spacer to use, put it on the diff side, the u-joints will love you for it.
