FYI-

Went to the dealer today to have a recall performed.  Climbed under some trucklets to see what gives.

Okay, 2003 GVs and XL7s with auto have aluminum axles.

All the 2004 GVs and XLs have steel.  2004 marks the change.

EXCEPTION!!! 2004 Vit V6ers with auto are still soda cans.  Can't tell about manuals, as the dealer had none.

Funny, the 2004 XL7s have a super cheezy "skidplate" that hides EVERYTHING.  Dealer kinda got pist at me for prying it apart.

In short, VERY unimpressed with the new Zooks.  My 2000 look like it will be the last new Zook I ever buy.

Since the 'new' wave of designed vehicles are today, bringing back something old and then refine it for today's standards seems appealing. I hope Suzuki can get in the grove with something of the old LJ's. I'd think you'd buy that new.

Well the aluminum will look like well aluminum (grey).  The steel will be painted black and you probally can find some rust on the sharp corners.

Here's the paradox.  the Autos are sodacans, yet you can use CALMINI t-case gears in them.

The sticks are steel, but can't use the t-case gears.

I was thinking (yes it happens some times) that the t-case gear thing many have been case by the man. trans beging biult in Japan vs the auto in Can. ??  But are not all GV/xl-7 coming from Japan now???  Will the old gears work on the 04's
