Do not add the coil spacers. Mabey a 1/2 inch spacer but not a 1 1/8 spacer! The inner tierods will have too much angle, plus it will ride like a dumptruck. the 99 up rigs are a completely different animal than the 98 and older.

Mike

Puts too much angle on the inner tie rods?  I would have figured they would be engineered to work at full droop of the Calmini suspension.  Full droop won't change, I will just lose down travel.

It will change some if I add OME struts, but Gear has this combo and I haven't heard of any probs.  Does it cause excess wear, or does it break them?  I know Gear was saying he was going to add 30mm spacers to his Calmini lift with OME struts, I would like to get your thoughts if you are out there.  Anyone......Anyone.... ???

I added 15mm to the front (have 30mm on one side because of sagged spring) and only used the OME struts with no strut spacer (OME = OEM + Calmini strut spacer).  anymore and you'll always be maxing out the strut over any little bump.

Sorry to hear about the snapped axles.  So you use the OME struts without the spacers?  Does that leave you enough down travel?  By maxing out the strut, do you mean on compression or extension?
Would also like to see current pics if you have any.

With a 1 1/8th spacer in the front it will totally top out the strut. The lower arm works as a fulcrum. A spacer of that size will equal around 3 inches at the wheel. Thats why I said 1/2 inch at the most. That will only be a little over an inch.

OME struts added to the Calmini kit will guarantee a bent Idler the first time out wheeling. Sky MFG makes a bulletproof Idler for less than $100. Actually I would strongly recomend the sky idler with any lifted kick. :P

Does Sky MFG build an Idler arm for a GV with rack and pinion?  If so, where can I get one?

Rack and pinion doesn't have an idler arm
