I need a passenger side front axle for my ’02 XL-7 4WD. The dealer is quoting my mechanic almost $600. Yikes!
Is there another source? Used is okay as long as it works.

The story: I bought a Calmini lift kit for my XL-7 in November ’03, it was installed without the locking hubs on the front. Which was recommended in the instructions but not included in the kit, now it is. Great. The guys that did the install missed this.  

Fast forward to the present: One of the Axle seals has failed and there’s 'some damage' to the Axle.  
My mechanic is not sure if they can save the axle that is on it now.  
So I’m coming here begging for help replacing this axle.  
I've also ordered the locking hubs from Calmini so this doesn't happen again.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Also, check your local salvage yards. Next, national auto parts stores, internet cv stores, etc.

Just beware, that most stores sell a used refurbished axle. At times, this is worth the cost difference, other times, likely you'll need, is a total new. Rebuilt is the CV itself. It must pass certain criteria for rebuilding. Most of the time, tolerances on not met, but they still rebuild.
