Tires are going on today!
« on: March 24, 2005, 03:04:42 AM »
I am excited. My new 265/70/16s are going on today. Ended up with the Yokohoma ATs I really liked the way they looked on BKs truck. Plus they 30.7" alittle taller than most. I also got the wheel spacers back from the machinist, they went on like butter. I beat the wheel wells out and took some measurements, hopefully not too much more work to be done there. May get keep the factory flares. The back end may need some trimming though as the spacers put the tires out around the plastic. I will have pics tomorrow for you guys.

Good tire that's what I have  ;D just in the 245/75/16 = 30.8 :P ;D.  Size wise with your bd lift you should be good to go but you're going to need those wheel spacer .   Take some pics and lets us now how it goes.

Got the truck back. Man are these things gonna scrub offroad. Fender trimming tomorrow for sure. The spacers cause it to scrub right at the flare in the front. The rear bumper is going to be an issue as well. I'll get it worked ou though. These tires as phat daddy!! ;D

Good news, can't wait to see pics of it wheeling ;).  So using your example I'm trying to think of tires I can fit and with little of no rubbing issues depending on what lifts I choose.   If I remember correctly you ended up with the Calmini 2.5" + OME struts and RRO 2" body lift for a total of 4.5" and still running stock front and rear bumpers?  Did you measure how much lift you actually got from the Calmini kit?  I remember someone complaining about only getting 1" from it.   And your tires are about the same as a 31x10.5.  I'm leaning towards a 2" + 2" and running 30x9.5 and hoping to avoid trimming.

Also, does anyone know how fender clearance on the GV/Tracker compares to the XL-7.

Looks great. Really like it being that way? LOL.

You probably rub the back of your calf all the time on the rocker panel, huh?

Really looks good, though just in the pics, tires don't look that all big. Get a reference for size comparison, ie another vehicle.

Will do, we have a Denali that parks by me in the lot. It show how pretty good how much clearance as well. The Denali has 265/70/17s on it. I upload  in a few.

Wow, looks good, but tight!
I think the difference is clear, when comparing to previous fotos (ie: the ones in the project nomaad pdf file). Hope they give a good result and that you enjoy them!

BTW, the project nomaad file is really great. Thanks a lot! It shall be very helpful to me. I just got a RRO BL, and I have a question I'd rather post in the buildup post. ;)

Sure did put the spacers on. I had them re-machined to fit over the lip on the bottom of the hub. Here a couple of pics.

Actually, I took Sergi's suggestion and went looking for the before pics. In review, WOW, what a difference. Looking back at your driveway pics, I can visualize the difference due to the centerline of the axles.

Then the parking lot pics from the front awsome.

This makes me wanting to toss my 1" BL idea and go for RRO's 2" version.

Yeah nice of rocky road to lie to me saying the wheel spacers will be machined for the GV hubs fucking guys after waiting 2 months for them. I just took a grinder to them due to the fact they use the studs to center them not the center hub.

Looks good guy so how much lift did u get out of the calmini lift was the 2.5" true or not seeing pics from u and other guys i duno if you truely get 2.5" of lift??
