how to fit 30's on my sammy..
« on: September 27, 2005, 04:05:51 PM »
i am looking how to fit my 30" tires on my sammy. i hope that a 1" body lift and a 1" shackle lift will do the trick.. is this 2" lift sufficient for the 30's? or do i need to spoa?

I first did a two inch shackle lift and pounded in the metal runner in the wheel wells and thats fairly adequate for my 31x10.50's,It still rubs a bit under severe flex. You will be getting bump steer with this setup though!

Just to add some more info to find out more about your situation. Do you not want a spoa suspension or do you have budgetery and or legal issues to contend with. There are multiple way to lift a sammy, but what do you have in mind for trails and a budget and skill level.

ok, there is a current build up of a frame for me with a 1.6 16 valve, 5.8 t-case gears, toys and yj springs..i am only looking to get this thing up in the air a little for about 3 or 4 months. i dont want to spend too much on this thing for now.. so spoa is out. i only have a pair of revolvers, and some lift shackles and a 1" body lift.

That should fit 30's fine depending on how wide they are and your rim size.
also you could put a  set of rears up front to move the tires forward and give another 1 inch of lift.
with lift shackles you can easily run 30's in the rear.

Just my .02 from running this setup for a year, well minus the rear's up front but then again I did not really care about the tires.
