My weekend work ...

(click pics for bigger versions ...)

The BL kit hasn't arrived, but I still managed to get most of the "prep" done (disconnect things that would stretch, relocate some lines here and there, get shifters off, etc) ... for now I've got it lifted using 2x4's on edge ...

Here's a pic of the rear ...

and one of the rear from the side ...

I also have decided a gas tank lift is a necessity for this rig so ...

I cut out the crap ...

Then massaged the front cutoff bits to fit around the tube they used to connect to ... (of course getting the 3" of lift I intended)

So now it's stuffed up in like it should be ...

Still need to figure out the rear xmember ... I have the class I hitch that was on it ... might just cut that in to fit (with or without the mount tabs I cutoff the stock xmember ...)

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

I've got the 2dr ready to go ... just needed to make some progress on this one.

Probably a couple more weekends on this 4dr to get it back on the road. After that, I'll get some bumbers and sliders made up, figure out how much I'm going to drop for lockers, herculine some bits, and maybe rattle can a camo job on it.

what b/l kit did you buy?  I thought you were gunna make one yourself.

tank lift looks good.  did the sides of the tank (the lip edges) fit on top of the frame?

you may wanna build one of those nifty access panels in the rear floor so that you don't have to pull that tank out again for fuel pump problems.

I tell ya, those OME coils look sweet in the back of that badboy.  Have you set a goal for tire size yet?

I bent the lib edges down so it fits in the frame rails ...

yea, I'm considering that, but I don't think it'll be necessary (dropping the tank wasn't really hard anyway).

32's will be no problem ... I'm going to flex out with the 31's and see if 33's will fit. I'm hoping 33's will be on my xmas list :)
