Next Project! Lookin for input.
« on: October 26, 2005, 12:39:18 AM »
I think that what I'm gonna do next is take a 2 dr. and a 4 dr. Tracker and cut them in the appropriate spots.  Then cut the top off of the 4 dr. and form 2-24" panels stretch the frame and weld everything together and make a pick-up with a 6 1/2 to 8 foot bed.  Any thoughts?  Thanks George.

I like the idea, but it might look kinda silly with a bed that long. I wouldn't personally go much longer than the stock 4dr wheelbase.

I alwayd thought that would be a cool thing to do. The frame stretch and longer wheel base would make it look better with the longer bed. Usually when Zuks are converted to pick ups the bed is too short to be of much use.

I still think a wheelbase extension of more than 10-12" is gonna look goofy with the front end. Might have to photoshop some stuff up and see if the picture in my head is similar.

i'd like to see a 2dr convert. put onto a 4dr frame. then cut the back pat of the 2dr body, and stretch it to fit the frame. this would give you a one off 2dr convertible lwb.

I always thought so to, but I think with the right tire/wheel combination, and a few nice options that a long bed would look good.  If everything was left stock, then yes it might look a bit silly. But I don't think it could look any sillier then some of the trucks coming off the Ford line everyday. Hell even if it did look silly at least it would be a one of a kind silly. LOL
