Halloween night wheeling
« on: November 04, 2005, 05:40:29 AM »
A few pictures of our halloween adventure, in which I finally managed to get my sammy stuck twice. I will post some more as soon as my friend uploads them

My friend being stupid on the back of my sammy while we were stuck

Me investigating how stuck we were after we got out... stuck with the front end down in mud and the back end on a palmetto log.

Cool poser shot on a sand hill.

On the bank of the intercoastal waterway, being stupid.

Making a wake.

What we went through

The aftermath

It's snowing!

Thick stuff

Down a sand hill

Different hill

And here is a map of our trip

well u see.... the longest track we've got on our island takes about 10 mins to complete, and thats not cos its very long... its cos its stupidly narrow and your basically rubbing mirrors on both sides the whole way.  what i meant by must take 30 mins blah blah blah... is that it looks like a very long track... im now guessing it takes a fair bit longer than that then??  anyways.. to me... a 30 minunte track sounds like a journey and a half!! but obviously u have different standards....

I just didn't get what you meant, now I get it though.  ;D

And yeah it is a pretty long track, we did it again yesterday and had a little carnage, my friends XJ lost its exhaust. We managed to rig it up enough to get home, and he got it welded good as new at the exhaust  shop today. Kind of ruined the day though, because it was a bitch to get fixed.

Wow, sweet trails, does anyone frown upon people wheeling there?

Not really. It is owned by a development company (I actually live 5 minutes away from it in the same development), and their official policy is they can't condone it but they won't kick you off. Lots of 4wheelers and dirt bikes screw around out there, and the occasional 4x4. They are slowly developing it though, right across the street were a few more trails but nothing too fun but they got bulldozed within the last month. Makes it a lot more fun though, driving through the bulldozed ground really pushed my sammi to its limits, and no jeep would even attempt it. They all thought I was crazy when I just popped it in 4lo and crawled over some crazy stuff, off camber and no real trail, upturned roots and massive mounds all over the place, I was bottoming out all over the place, and I had the most ground clearance of anything out there.

Ripped my exhaust out and I found bark underneath my sammi in the weirdest places from where it scraped.

You mean you guys can actually keep your mirrors bolted onto the car down there in florida.  Up here, i have to take them off each time i venture offroad...    A sidekick is almost a fullsize rig up here, considering how tight the trails can be...

Sidekick fullsize? The rigs here are mostly fullsize chevys and fords, and a few jeeps. And yeah I keep my mirrors on, except when I take the doors off.  ;D
