Just got a 90 Tracker 2 door.  ;D  The passenger side manual window mechanism is screwed up.  I've got a donor door with a good window and mechanism but the door on the Tracker now is actually very clean, solid, and matches the rest of it.  So I was wondering...how do I swap the internals...or can I even?  Doesn't look like there's easy access.

Basically it looks like the window mechanism fell apart or something as you can push or pull the window up yourself, there's a bunch of stuff hanging down inside the door, and nothing happens when you turn the crank.

take off the door panel... shuld be bolted in ,, so just unboltit and take what you need..good luck man( )   it's a pretty simple job...

It's the phillips screw heads #3 tip
and they will pop loose, pretty tight
and if you use a #2 you will ruin the
heads and you might never get the
old screws out.

the window mechanism (regulator) is
a cable type, and can be folded to get
it out thru the small holes in the door,
you will also need to remove 2 screws
at the bottom of the glass too, remove
the glass thru the top of the door.

Well, I have the stuff swapped over and the window now goes up and down and stays in whatever position you put it in.  The problem is that going up is a straight up b$%ch. >:(  I've tried playing with the adjustment possible at the top and at where the glass mounts to the track assembly but can't quite seem to get it.  It's either very hard to move up or sticks about 3/4 of the way up.  When I can get the window up to the top I have to sorta push/pull it so that it will seat correctly and go up the last half inch or so.
Any thoughts?

did you clean the window tracks,, and lube up the cable and pullys,, use something like wd 40,, to get them freed up.. then use a spayable white litium greese... see what that dose for yah....

This seems like more of a mechanical thing, the window definately is dragging because it isn't going up straight.

The cable/pullies/handle turn very nicely, it's the resistance that makes it not so easy.

Use a can of silicone lubricant with the long red straw on the end to lubricate in the tracks....works wonders!  If that does not work you may have a bent track or a bad window regulator.

I'll have to pick up some silicone tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure the regulator is good because it worked beautifully in the spare door I salvaged it from 5 minutes before I put it in the Tracker.
