Rear Brake Pads
« on: February 06, 2006, 09:11:16 AM »
So my Hot "Brake" light came on right beside the pretty "Check Engine" light. I replaced my front brake pads, apparently I have to do the rear's. How hard is it and can I do it with regular tools in a good amount of time?

i have never heard of a "hot brake" light i have a "brake" light in my tracker that doubles as a parking brake and a low brake fluid light.

but Changing rear shoes is pretty easy but i would spend the little bit of money and buy the spring removal tools it makes it alot easier but you can do it with out them

jack up the rear and take both wheels off but only do 1 side at a time so you can use the other side as a guide

only do one side at a time!!!!!!!!!! that way you have something to look at when you piece it back together.   it's pretty easy, I use sidecutters to remove all the springs and re install them.
