1.3L to 1.0L Engine Swap?
« on: February 13, 2006, 12:14:29 AM »
Hey everybody! I've looked through several forums on the web and come up empty handed so far. Hope you can help me out. Does anybody know if the 1.3L in a 94 Swift can be replaced with the 1.0L? Thanks for your responses in advance.

those 2 engines share the same bore and stroke,
if the bolt holes match the bell housing I would say
it's a go, not sure you will like the 1.0 for power tho

Yes you can....but you better have a great reason for it as it is a pille of work.

- All mounts
- Engine wiring harness
- Computer and modules

You need to swap virutally ever component except the trans and axles and thats if it is a standard...if it is an auto you can add the trans computer and wiring as well...possibly the trans as the gearing is different.

A tremendous pile of work and expense, but it is possible.
