Hi

     Always start with the basics
1) Are you sure the valve timing is correct?
2) Is the dist |removethispart|@ #1 when the timing marks are lined up?
3) Do you have spark?
4) Are you getting fuel?

Follow the basics and you will most likely find it.

My money says the valve timing is 180 degrees out. Its a curious Suzuki thing, I don't know what it is exactly but it seems to catch people out all the time.

crank mark points up, cam mark points down,
don't ask why, just do it, and point the dizzy at
the # 1 firing spot, it will start

Ok so I have the same condition,,
Timing belt should be ok since dowel on crank shaft points at 12 o'clock when dowel on cam shaft points at 12,,,,,,
Then give a 360 turn to crank shaft and now cam shaft point at 6 o'clock, all these is fine right?? but still it won’t start,,,,,,
I checked twice the distributor to be on #1 when TDC #1, nothing,,, turn rotor 180 still nothing,, by the way it isn't 180 degrees exactly right?? for some reason I can't turn it 180 exactly,,,
I got spark and I got gas
HELP PLEASE!!!

What you are saying you did is right.

You must be overlooking somthing that
you think is right, but is not, or it would
be running.

Go back to TDC firing, remember, a 4 stroke
engine only fires every other time at TDC.

Dowel is on the camshaft it's self, not the
bolt on belt cog, if you are looking at the belt
cog (gear) the mark on the opposite side of
where the notch is that enguages the camshaft
dowel pin is supposed to be down when the
crankshaft keyway is pointing up.

Now set the ignition timing, traditionaly the #1
firing position of the rotor is at a 4 or 5 O'clock
position as if you looked at the distributor straight
on from the top, in reality, it can point any direction,
as long as the spark is hitting the right plug at the
right time,  but it's best to keep things normal.

if you have done this right, and you have fuel and
spark, it will start.

Good Luck
