Reason I'm asking is because the '96 I'm going to look at this weekend has what the guy calls a whine coming from the rear end. He thinks it's a bearing issue and has a bearing kit for the axle. At the same time it's turning 31's with whatever gears came stock on a '96 2 door with the auto.
...however sitting in my back yard is my '90 POS money hole with 5.12's...and I'd be glad to get some money back from it if I could swap the whole damn axle in, get rid of the whine, and get proper gearing back.
Both are 2 door soft tops. The '90 is a Japanese built 5 speed and the '96 is a Canadian built 3 speed auto.
Yes I know I'd have to regear the front too.
