What paint did you use?  I like the matte finish... mine is a bit too flat for my taste.. I thought of clearing mine, with a matte clear  (clear with some flattening agent added)

That's what friends are for.  You just gotta convince one that they should let you paint their rig!  ;D

As for the new color... I liked the original, but it's tough to compete with a Sammi painted OD Green.  ;)

It's absolutely amazing how well a few cans of Krylon will improve the looks of these little guys. I did mine over a year ago with Krylon Lacquer and it still looks great. Most folks don't believe that I did it in the garage with rattle-cans, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.   ;D  Why spend $500-1000 for a pro paint job when most of these vehicles are selling for much less?  Just my .02

i have a set of those rims.  used to be called 'turbines'.  you can still find them, i got mine for $50.  they are aluminum and the 5 on 5 1/2 pattern was popular because it fit heeps, scouts, and dodges with the larger center opening.  also made them for fords, but the centers were smaller.  the back space is somewhere around 4-4 1/2 inches i think so i'll be getting some spacers before mounting them.

well, the turbines are 8" wide.  i also have a set of 16 x 7" steel spokes in great shape.  they have the 5 on 5 1/2 pattern.  removed them from my old scout before i sold it.  the back space on them are a little more, closer to 5" for sure.  don't think i want spacers 2" or more for those to fit, so i'll probably list those on here to sell after my lift kit goes on in a couple of weeks.

Here is a update, I took the zuk wheeling with tree branches and stuff hitting it alot.  wheeling for a few hours, no scratches in paint or chips.  Seems to have heldup nicely.
