kicker3 in a kick?
« on: October 05, 2006, 09:45:11 PM »
can i use the kicker3 in my 95 tracker 16v? or is it just for the sammy?
i have a sammy with stock case and lower gears and thinking about parting it out and putting the case in my tracker.

Yes, you CAN put that under a Track/Kick. You just need to fab up crossmembers and put a hole in the floor. It will rearrange your shift pattern in the floor - you'll have two different shifters coming up in different spots.

I've got one in my 4 door, and GRVIT has one in his 2 door. There are others who do, also, I'm sure. Whether it be on here, OR Pirate.

cool. i was thinking the sammy case would end up farther back and end up changing the driveshaft lengths

What makes you think it won't change driveshaft lengths?  You are adding another tcase behind your existing tcase......something has to change.

Oh yeah, you'll need to change driveline lengths. Also, you'll need to put samurai flanges on your drivelines - somehow - because the samurai case doesn't use slip yokes like the tracker case does.

I think both Skyhiranger, and I took your reply as - since we said that you "COULD" put the kicker 3 under your track/kick, that you "wouldn't" have to change driveshaft lengths, as you don't in a Samurai.  ;)

Nope. Mine still does it. 95geo said he was going to look at his this winter. I'll probably wait to see what he finds out. Personally I think it's either the way the gears mesh together, or the coupler in the middle. It hasn't caused any issues with mine, it's just noisy. I deal with it - don't take it on the freeway much. Having two transfercases is awesome when wheeling, though.

Especially when one of them has lower gears in it. Then you can pick and choose what gear you want and if you want just one transfer case, or both.
