Well....here are my new 245 75 16 Goodyear MTR tires mounted to my Zuk.  I'm still getting a little bit of rubbing in the front on turns, despite suspension and body lift, 1" spacers, and trimming.  For now, no biggie.  I'm on pavement mostly anyway.  But I will have to have something done to the front wheel wells eventually, and I'm sure it'll involve sawing a little metal.  Enough talking....here are the pics!!!

Since I'm only allowed four pics per post, here are a few more.  As you can see, I had to remove the rear mudflap pieces because it was just too tight.  One side was rubbing because of a few whacks to the bumper over the years, so I said to hell with it...and I took 'em off.  I'm hoping to get a rear bumper fabbed in the next year or so, so I can live with the three holes until then.  Here are some more pics.  Enjoy

how many inches of lift do you have?

I've got a 2" RRO body lift, and the RRO suspension lift, which gives me another 2-2 1/4."  The suspension lift has settled a bit.  That's probably not helping.  I noticed the poly spacers are a little compressed.  They're supposed to equal 1 1/8" of the total lift, but they appear to be compressed to around an inch or less (it's hard to tell exactly how much extra lift they are providing because the top of the coil spring is not a flat surface and squishes them unevenly).  Maybe I should buy some 1" or 1 1/4" spacers made of aluminum from VTTR in Taiwan.  Aluminum spacers wouldn't compress at all. 

Anyhoooo.....someone mentioned manual hubs.  Yeah, I definitely want to get that done soon.  Was hoping to do the gearing change at the same time utilizing Sidekick 5.125 carriers.  Unfortunately, the money isn't there right now.  Maybe in a few months.  Until then, my Zuk will be a "trailer queen."  Or rather, a "condominium queen."    I'm not gonna feel like this truck can truly do anything until I have at least one locker installed.  I've seen how useless open diffs are, and it's scary!!

Well....after a few hundred miles of driving on pavement, I can say that these Goodyear MTRs impressive me....a lot!  Extremely little highway noise for how aggressive they are.  Good road manners.  They're actually very good on wet roads as well.  I've pushed them a little on water to see if the rear wheels would spin easy and they don't.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to test them offroad sometime soon!

cool.  don't worry... as the tires wear a bit the noise seems to increase.  anybody else notice this with mud tires?
