Hi. I'm relying on all you guys advise here since most shops around here think suzuki is a dirty word and if they even heard of a samurai, they want to know who made it or if it's that "thing that flips over real easy".
Having found a couple of rocker screws missing and another loose (I will pull all, locktite and retorque), I went looking for the two screws in the head. I only found one. It was in the driverside rear port. The other one is missing. The two that vibrated out are the two closest to the firewall. I can't see any damage though the one screw I found had hit something on the head. Pretty big heads for the ports they go down.
I picked up an oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket. What I'm thinking of doing is draining th oil, and swishing mineral spirits around the head and cleaning the head, and putting a little more oil around the head for lube when I restart it. Maybe find a screw up there too. Then I want to drop the oil pan and try to find the other screw.
--If I can't find it, and its still up in the engine, where could it be?
--Could it cause any damage if its still lost in the engine?
--Is my cleaning idea necessary or a waste of time and a bad idea.
--Is there anything else I should do while I have the valve cover and oil pan gasket off? (It ran good before but maybe the valves need adjusted or seals replaced?)
Any responses always appreciated.
