Call your local scrap yard too, because around here, a converter, without holes (not rusted through) will bring from between $100-200 depending on size, you can almost pay for a new one scrapping the old one.  The prices are crazy all over the place though.. so your mileage may vary. It's still a nice "coupon" on a new one.
