Okay i know this has been covered but i'd like to lay my mind to rest.  I'd like to run a tracker/sammi twin case setup in a 2dr kick.  Many people worry that the driveshaft offset will create alot of vibration, but i'd like to hear from someone who has done it.  how about a 2wd trans to shorten things up a bit.  Has anyone done this in a 2dr, or think that it would be do-able on a vehicle that is going to be driven on the road?

just go to ott and be done with it, run a toy case behind yours and run the track case in low range on the street if that is what you are looking for.  http://www.ottindustries.com/index.htm

low gear in the track case would be far to low for the street though.  i dont know anything about the yota cases, do any of them have a reduced high range?

What are you trying to do with the duals? my sammie runs a little over 1.6 to one in high range, you could go to a taller gear real easy with a tracker(4.30 ect), it's the 5.83's that are hard to find,toys are one to one in high but lower in the low range than a kick, and the low range gears for them are cheaper.

My goal for the duals is to have a wider selection of gears, and to reduce the final drive so i could run a taller tire.  I'd really like to avoid having to use 4low in the case all the time, because that would basically make some of my gear choices unusable.

I am planing on the same mod a little later on to my 3dr V6 Escudo / Kick.

My plan:

Run 5.14:1 crawler gears from Calmini in Sammie box - Kick box stock.
To sort out rear end I will be fitting an offset ( offset is stock ) Toyota Landcruiser diff assembly fitted with 4.88 r&p's ( my stock V6 ratio is 4.88, so perfect ). Very strong axles, set up for coils stock and we have an import here in NZ that has disk breaks in the rear stock.
Plan on 37" Goodyear Wranglers ( I happen to have a set lying around ).
Still keeping IFS too. Pushing the rear axle back a bit to help with drive shaft.

Went out with a friend in the weekend with dual boxes in his Toyota - AWESOME  . IMO if you are at the extreme end of the 4x4 scene then you gotta do this mod  .

i want the whole shebang.  the reduced high range, along with the lows.  The other option would be spending $600 on 5.83 gears, and another $600 on tcase gears, and i think that for that much money there must be something better.  anyone know of a reduced high range case that doesnt have an offset rear output? or think that its possible to overcome the offset of the samurai case?

yes thare is you can pick up a L50 or L52 toyota trans for cheep. and someone makes a kit to adapt the toy trans to a sidekick moter. ?ott or advanced adapters? not shure someone knows hear. than you can do duel toy casses. this setup is only 4 inches longer than a stock sidekick trans and case. so you will not loose much driveshaft. or you can go with one case and marlin makes 4.7 and 5.1 gears. the toyota parts are much cheeper than sidekick or sammi and a lot stronger.

We have the adapter for the 1.6 or 2.0 to Toy W or G series trans. Not the L series. It has to be a removable bell toy trans to work. We also have the R series adapter.  It is an adapter made by SOS called the RingR we are the US distrib.

After seeing a sammi today on toy axles, i really think that i could get by with just a sammi case and a toyota cv style driveshaft.  The sammi owner didnt seem to notice any major vibrations ,and thats with a center input driveshaft.  with that case and some 4.62's i'd like to think that my high range gearing would be suitable for 33's.
