windshield sprayers. (I was just trying to clean them)
« on: February 21, 2007, 03:20:04 PM »
Hi again.
I got home from work this morning and thought I would take a quick minute and clear the little sprayers on my 86 samurai. One was weak, and one just dribbled. Someone had painted the vehicle and got some paint in and around the holes. I took a little pick about the size of a pen tip but pointy and poked it in and around to get the crud off. I only put it in maybe 1/8 of an inch I think. Now when I pull on the wiper arm, the fluid sprays inside from under the the dash.

Could I have possibly punctured the lines just by trying to clean them? That's my guess.
If so, will I be able to access it through the speedometer gauge cluster or will I have to pull the whole dash?

Any help appreciated.

More likely is that you pushed whatever was clogging it far enough in that it is completely clogged now and the pressure blew the hose off inside the dash, or the plastic "Y" broke from the pressure, they are very brittle...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

Thanks. Only one way to find out for sure. That's o.k.  I needed to clean up some stereo wires and stuff back in there anyways. I'm hoping to access it through the instrument cluster if possible. I just didn't think I poked it in there that far or hard. (That sounds kind of funny!  Ha Ha!)
