sidekick manual transmission question
« on: March 31, 2007, 06:21:09 AM »
Hi

i'm replacing my manual transmission on a 1990 sidekick, I bought a used one but there is a slight difference between the two parts.

my old transmission has 2 sensors on top of it, and the new one only one sensor. i figured that one of the sensor is probably a switch for the reverse light... what is the other one for? .
Can i install it and plug only one sensor?

thank you

Denis

4x4 light?

Nope.  The 4x4 sensor is in the tcase, not the tranny.
It is a 5th gear switch sensor...just like on the samurais.
Yes, you can just plug in the 1 sensor (it will be the reverse light sensor) and not worry about the other one.
