Ok, I found the answer about water and freezing and pressure ...

turns out that water has a lower freezing temp when under pressure. So, it is possble (not saying likely), that opening the filler cap could lower the pressure which then causes the water to freeze ... I'm done with my acedemic investigations :)

I hope you figure your problem out, but I had to resolve my own curiosity about water and pressure and freezing :)

All this talk about engines and weather and crap, the real question is- did you get the damn pizza delivered in 30 minutes or less?

DAMNIT! it worked fine all fucking night and today! i let her sit outside for a few hours in like 40-50 degree weather and i go to start her...NOTHING! no fuel again! i can't even tell if the fuel pump is turning on or not because i dont' have a second person... what the hell could the problem be this time? it's showing about 3 gallons of gas in the tank. i mean could there really be enough dirt and shit in the tank to roughly make 3 gallons?   :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Yes... sometimes when the tank gets low on fuel, or has been stirred up (such as after stopping for gas) is when you'll pick up cruddy gas.

Still, I'm betting you'll find it's something else. From what I'm reading on cures, the fuel pump often will work intermittently, or will get weak. That'll cause those same symptoms.

(It sure makes it hard to diagnose.)
