Suzuki won't boost output in Dec.
Reuters / December 03, 2004

TOKYO -- Japan's top minivehicle maker, Suzuki Motor Corp., said on Friday it had decided to halt a planned output boost of 13,000 units in December due to a shortage of steel.

Suzuki is the second Japanese automaker after Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. to say it will cut output plans because of difficulties in procuring sufficient steel

I've noticed around here that the prices for steel have risen significantly over the last few months. When working on the truck we have a couple of wholesale metal/steel warehouses where you can just go get plate, tubing, angle etc of whatever you need.

It's gotten noticeably more expensive.

I wonder why GM haven't said anything...they're supposed to be the biggest steel consumer in the world.

Actually, most sources site China's growing consumption and a tight supply of raw materials.

China is also responsable for the
tight supply of Cement, which is
