I didn't know you could get a 96 with a 1.8
I'll have to keep my eyes open for a crunched
one, as far as I have heard, just the timing
chain is a big pain to change, and use the
5-30 recommended oil to prevent chain stretch

I here the 1.8's are junk.  Tell ya what, if you bring it over to my house I'll help you pull it out, and we'll put my 1.6 16v in your rig ;D  And I'll go ahead and find something to do with that motor ;)

8)I have a 98 sport with the 1.8, and so far it is great.  I only wheeled it once in Moab 04, drove it 17 hrs there and 17 hrs back, and I did not have the right gears (running 265x16's) and the clutch was the weak link.  I have had no problems for a year (that's how long I've had it) and I don't exactly "baby" it.  FYI :D

Well alright, I'll have Eric send you some brownies to fix that ;D  As soon as I'm back together I'm going to take a run to Ravensdale.  It's about 2 minutes from my house and most of the area is legal ;)  Actually now that I think about it the only areas I go out there that aren't legal I only take my bike.  So I'll let you know.  I'll need some people with me in case I break an axle :o
