any 3spd. trans guru's??

im reinstalling my engine into my 95 tracker, and just wondering if the little vaccume tube on the top of the trans is a venthose or actually a vacuume line, i didnt unhook this when i pulled my engine, and it doesnt look like anything was plugged into it, and i cannot find anything on the rear of the engine to hook it up to.....its about 5-6" long, and just small black vaccume line....any help is appreaciated

Geo,

It is probably a vent hose. If it were a vacuum line it would run along the passenger side of the transmission to a steel line that runs along side of the pan to the Driver side of the tranny and plugs into the vacuum modulator near the pan on the bottom. The other end of the line will plug into the intake manifold. That is the way my 94 is anyway. Hope this helps!
