I say go check it out and see if it is solid and snag it up. Dont know much about the 87 model but the 88 models I had were great, mine were soft tops though. You should be able to get a good engine for it on here, my buddy built one that had a rod knock and it tore up the crank and I think he gave like three hundred bucks for a good crank, that was a little steep I thought since they did not give much more than that for the sami.
