'87 Sammi for sale: should I buy?
« on: September 23, 2007, 07:39:00 PM »
Hey all,

I am hesitant to post about this sale. (Don't want anyone to snag it from under my feet!!) Found an '87 Sami  hardtop for sale for $550. Needs engine rebuild, but probably that's it. I really want to buy it, and my wife says she is interested too!! (whoohoo!!) Is there anything I should know about this vehicle before I purchase? Any nuances about the '87's that I don't know about? Looking for a total project for my daughter and I. Any info. would help. Thanks.

I say go check it out and see if it is solid and snag it up. Dont know much about the 87 model but the 88 models I had were great, mine were soft tops though. You should be able to get a good engine for it on here, my buddy built one that had a rod knock and it tore up the crank and I think he gave like three hundred bucks for a good crank, that was a little steep I thought since they did not give much more than that for the sami. Good luck!!

Looks like fun to me.

Let me know if you need an engine to rebuild.  Our local group has one or two laying around.  :p
