I just got a 1993 samurai and I am looking for a suitable lift kit possibly between 2 - 3''. Can you please advise a good choice? which size tire would fit after 2.5'' lift?

A small one?

A SPOA will be cheaper than a straight spring lift. It provides around 4 1/2"s of lift and you can run up to about a 32" tire. I have had 32" TSL Swampers on mine since I did the SPOA, since then I have added some 1" greaseable shackels which gave me another 1/2" of lift. I have also added a SKY 1" body lift for the clearance of the motor and other goodies.

If you or some one you know can do the work, a redneck SPOA done decent should be fairly cheap.

Do check out Sky's site, he has some decent stuff. One is a nice SPOA kit that you can build on and not have too toss any pieces. Check out his stage 2 spring over kit, cost's less than $400 and you get some nice stuff with it.

Hey Red, is that his body lift you are refering too? That is the only 'lift" kit he has for that price range.

Yes, that is Sky's 2 inch body lift. Actually I think I found it on http://www.roadlessgear.com/ for $130. El Cheapo.

Without going back to Sky's site I believe he is selling it for $119. When I bought his 1" kit about 5/6yr's ago it was something like $89. It seems like his price has not increased a whole bunch in the last few years.

thank you for your answers guys. i am a little confused about the spoa conversion. i was told it will compromise the ride of the vehicle and would make stability worse. i need to use the zuk on the road as well.

Not so on the SPOA, I have a Rocky Road 5" SPOA and it drives the same as stock if done with good shocks. With any suspension lift, the higher you go the more unstable it will be regardless if it's a SPOA or lift springs, but again it done correctly and with good shocks (DT's offered with the RRO kit) it will be just as stable. I daily drive mine with a RRO 5" SPOA, extended shock mounts (for longer travel shocks). The only thing is I have my rear shocks triangulated ( /  \ ) to get a longer shock and I have heard you get a little less body roll if you keep them straight up and down ( |  | ). Just my 2 cents
