I did my timing belt and water pump as well had the thermostat out. Got it started after figuring out the timing belt was off a tooth. Now, it overheats. The fan never comes turns. From the front of the engine, the fan impeller shaft turns easily by hand but is not turning at all while the engine is over-heating.

I'm going to put a brand-new thermostat in it or run without to see if the impeller and or the fan clutch engauges once it gets hot.
Am I on the right path or is there something else I should be looking at?

If I can turn the water pump by hand when the engine is hot, doesn't that mean that no coolant is flowing by it to turn it??

Update:
I changed the thermostat and it still overheats. Lower radiator hose feels pretty cool about half way back and the heater control valve is cool. No coolant coming to the heater. No heat.
When it cools down, I guess I'll try flushing just the radiator with a hose in the top and the bottom hose disconnected?? It wasn't doing this before I did the waterpump but maybe when I emptied the radiator, something sunk to the bottom and clogged it

Any help always appreciated.
