It depends on what is limiting your flex. The best way to test your shocks is to pull them off, then flex out your rig on a makeshift ramp or in a ditch. Or even with a jack. This will allow you to measure just how much movement your suspension gives you. The easiest way to put longer shocks on is with a Ford F-250 Shock Tower, just cut your existing shock tower off and weld on the new one. Then take measurements on what height and travel you need in your new shock, then hit the shock book at your local parts store.
For the gears, I would just look at picking up new Transfer Case gears. 4.8 or so for 31" tires, 5.8 or so for 32", 6.5 or so for 33".
