ECM Question
« on: September 08, 2008, 06:51:32 PM »
I have a '93 Sunrunner and am looking at a '94 tracker that won't run and may have a bad computer.  I am not too worried if it won't run because my '93 does.  My question is there any difference in the ECM from the '93 to the '94 and could I swap the '93 to see if the ECM is the problem and maybe get it running so I can get it home?

shouldn't be a problem as long as they are the same engine.

86 sami 87 motor and a few other years in there probably, dana 44 rear,36"tsl. I once had splitfire spark plugs.

Both are two door convertibles and I believe both have 8V engines.

Take a look inside, if the boards look the same then it should run. There are something like 70 ECU variants across the Track/Kick model range. Most are minor software variations.
2000 Vitara 1.6, 3+3 Lift, 33"MTs, 5:83s, LWB brakes, Winch, Snorkel, Safari Rack
1986 SJ413K PickUp, 1.6L conversion.

Thanks everyone.  Sadly, and I mean really sadly, I missed out on this one as someone else grabbed it before I even received a response from the seller.  I will just have to keep my eyes open for another in the area.
