New wheels and tires for the Tracker now to make'm fit
« on: January 09, 2009, 09:36:29 PM »
Hey everyone how's it goin? Well I got some Bfg m/t 30x9.5s on 15x8 steelies ;D.  No 32s or 33s yet as I realized I could save a ton of money but still get a huge upgrade in performance over stock.  So now I need to decide how to make them fit.  The fronts hit the inner fender  in front of the doors pretty bad. I didn't  check the rears, cause they gotta be better than the fronts. Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap lift?  Its a 1996 4-door. Spring spacers or a body lift would work but I'm on a tight budget so it's one or the other for now. Anyone know of a cheap spacer kit with strut spacers?  I think I could afford a jeff1997 spacer lift if he still makes them.  Let me know soon so I can get my awesome mudders on. ;) Thanks in advance for any help.    P.S. sorry about the crappy cell phone pic but you can see they almost  rub even with tires hanging! :-\

jeff's kit and a little bending(i think-rather than cutting) + mabe some minor hammering inside.
8" rims might be a little wide, but try 'em.
'89 kick w/little motor, still got pieces of jeff's pucks, stan's sticks into 4.24:1 tcase, 31x10.5x15's, rear lockrite, kick power steering, some radios(kj6esv), bmw seat, other changes just because. done on the cheap.
suzi the psychic gets me fishing.

I ran 30x9.5 on 7" rims with a 2" lift and just minor trimming in the front.

I'd say, go for coil spacers, cheap and less work than a body lift.

Mrhawk,  I contacted jeff on Ebay and  I'm goin with his spacers.    1.5" in front 2" in rear with strut spacers. Excellent prices!!! ;D  For rear shocks Jeff tells me 95 mustang shocks are the way to go. That and some minor fender trimming should do it huh?  BTW 8" rims are a little too wide but they look sweet sticking out of the wheel wells!

Does "Jeff" make spacers for 2nd Gen Chev Trackers?  ???  If so, how do I get ahold of him?
