New Sami Seats
« on: August 02, 2004, 12:50:33 AM »
Just put a set of 2000 Neon seats in the Sami this weekend ;D ;D AAHHHHHH!!! my achin' back is going to love these things, VERY comfortable.  I'll try to post some 'after' pics, didn't take any during install (no digi cam). They fit perfectly and can be installed with simply a drill and some extra bolts using the Sami seat tracks and the L-braces off the Neon tracks.

Good back support?

I'm looking for some seats with nice lower back support, and right now it looks like I might just nab the seats out of my LSi Tracker. That is unless I can be convinced that these are better ;)

The one good thing Dodge does well are seats! I had a 96 Stratus and those seats were the best (too wide for the zuk though), my 2000 Ram seats are great and these neon seats are also great.  Try before you buy .....go to a pick and pull and test them out! Good lower back support.

Yep, seats are an often overlooked upgrade for a Sammi.  I love the Toyota MR2 seats in mine 8)

Hey Ron, will a set of seats out of a neon fit in my 4 door kick? If so, could you PM me a list of how to do it step by step. I love those seats and my seats are all torn up and stuff and I have a neon for donation.... sounds like a fun project.

Steve, I really cant' comment on seats in a Kick. I had one many years ago but never gave a thought about seats in it.  The thing w/ the samis is the bottom of the donor seat frame needs to be flat and a certain width to line up w/ the sami tracks. Neon seats and a few others fit the bill.  I would imagine the same basic principle would apply to  the Kicks (that is if the slider tracks unbolt from the seat frame like the samis).

Ron, did you use the tracks that came with the Neon seats or the Zuki seats?  Both my buddy and I that have Zuks are due for new seats too.....

Ok, Ok.... borrowed the camera from work..... have a few pics, now what's the story with the uploader? Or, can somebody host&post them for me?

Jeff! How've ya been, haven't heard much on the board from you.  To answer your question, yes, used the sami tracks right off the old seats. the trick is getting the triangle shape brackets off the neon tracks to cobble together the neon seat backs to the sami tracks.

Hey Ron, how ya been?  I've been real busy this summer rebuilding a '66 Mustang for my wife.  There are a bunch of us trying to put together a run at Paragon the weekend of Sept 11/12 if you're interested.  Right now I'm the only Sammy going, so I could use some support  ;D .

I also put the Neon seats in my Tin-Top.  Best $50 investment so far.  I wish I took pictures, but didn't.  jdraper, I used the Sami's tracks, if that helps

The files are larger than 350k and they won't upload. If somebody can host them, I'll email them......otherwise, I'm done with this thread  ::)
