ERRR, Dammit! Zukiworld blocked
« on: August 17, 2004, 08:09:09 PM »
Well, it's official.  My desk computer is now blocked from all sites not related to GM or my dealership.  Zukiworld was my last frontier of freedom.  Now it's gone too >:( >:( >:( They're planning a revamp of the system because it's hindering work related stuff too and stuff that's non-work related but ok is blocked too.  Plus most of management got blocked.  But for now my posts may be a bit tardy, since I'm hardly ever home.  Sorry.
On a positive note, may have finally found that cheap as free 1.6 for the Sammi.  Let ya know as soon as I get it and get some Zuki-time

Hell, just get it on the company ;D Tell them your using it to show customers details on their cars, values, compairing prices, etc....  OK, so they probably wont fall for it.

Do you have another phone line connection that is not being used? If you have lot's of lines coming into the dealership, you could just dial out on the laptop and hog a line while your brousing ;) It will be slow, but at least you can get your Zukiworld mid day fix ;D

LawDog, describe your surfing situation and I can hook you up. Corporate firewalls are fun to bust through! ;D Depending on what you are trying to beat, you have to do certain things.

1. Are you being monitored over the network? And will you lose your job if you get caught?
2. How do other employees feel about being locked in? Do they have the same attitude as you and will not rat you out if they look over your shoulder and see Zukiworld?
3. Is this systembrand new for your dealership and how long have you been running it.
4. What is your maximum acess?

Get back to me and I'll PM you on how to bust through!

Stevo, I'm not really monitored by anyone per-say.  There's a VNC thing but I just disable it on startup.  And I know the only guy that would actually peek pretty well and I doubt he'd throw me under the bus unless I was sneakin by the firewall for something really inappropriate, i.e. porn, gambling etc.  Most co-workers are pretty pissed that they can't play party poker at their desks anymore, no one would squawk.  My maximum access is gm-dealerworld, westherr.com, kbb.com, as well as e-bay and a number of other sites that the dealer group does business with.  I put wholesale and high dollar cars on the e-bay from time to time, so it's not blocked.  I'm not particularly sure on what you mean by system brand.  As I mentioned before, the block is called WebSense.  Umm, the system is all Windows based PC's, most running XP my port is like ...sales1/dwilliams1 or something.  Let me know what other info you may need.  Thanx alot.
