THUMBS UP to Trail Tough
« on: June 26, 2009, 02:10:14 AM »
My advice for people who expect great customer service: handle the matter professionally, and you will be treated professionally.  I have had no issues with Low Range Off Road, Trail Tough, Calmini, or 4Wheel Parts, since I call in, tell them my name, have an invoice number ready, and give them all possible information to answer my question in a professional manner.
After reading so much about "bad" customer service from various companies on this forum, I always wonder about the people who are IMPRESSED with customer service.  It always seems like people are eager to talk bad about the people who don't treat them right, but are reluctant to spread the good word about a good company.  I want to share a good word on here, as I was impressed with Trail Tough's response to my problem:
I ordered a Sidekick/Tracker front bumper, but had it custom made with a 2" receiver tube instead of a winch plate.
Linda at TT personally called me, after taking my shipping info in a phone call only a few minutes before, to verify that I knew this would not work with body lifted models (mine is not body lifted).  That impressed me too, since anyone would be upset receiving a bumper that wouldn't fit right.  I was told it would take 10 extra days to custom fabricate, and a few more for shipping.  The bumper showed up (very well packaged) exactly 10 days after ordering.  That was fast.

Then, I noticed when mounting it, the way the hitch was welded in, it angled downward about 45 degrees...putting my portable winch roughly a foot off the ground.

I e-mailed Linda at Trail Tough, and this is the response I got:
"I am so sorry. I did not look at the bumper when it was finished to make
sure our fab shop did it correctly. Obviously we will replace it.  Due to
the very expensive cost of shipping it back to me I am just going to have
you keep it and I will send you a new one. Again I apologize and am very
sorry our fab shop misunderstood the concept.  If you do not want to keep
the bumper I will make arrangements to have it picked up."

So not only are they fixing my problem, I am basically ending up with two bumpers.  This is my first time buying from TT, and after this customer service, I will definitely be ordering from them again.  Thanks, Trail Tough.

So... Your saying you have a bumper for sale with a discount, slight fabrication needed?  :D

It's good to hear that they treated you right.  I have had nothing but good experiences from Trail Tough when ordering their hardware as well.  :)

Yeah and they sell good products too...especially the new Undertaker box they just released.  Kinda funny, I noticed it on their website earlier that day, then later they posted a topic on it here, right after I noticed it on their site.  Cool product  :)
And yes, I do have an extra bumper, as soon as the new one arrives.  I edited my post to leave that out, as I might donate it to my neighbor for his Toyota FJ for him to hack up and make it work.  Unless someone on here wants it, but the shipping would be a pain

Shogun's cheaper & more functional (a doubler) than the Undertaker. That said, I've always loved TT's service & products.
